Denim Privé supports responsible cotton production by sourcing minimally impactful cotton when using virgin cotton. This means respecting the farmer, the land, and the cotton. Denim Privé sourced 83% of their natural fibres from BCI farmers.
Recycled cotton decreases the use of virgin cotton and therefore has less associated environmental impacts. About 157,745 metres of recycled cotton were used in Denim Privé denim in 2022.
Fashion is often dependent on polyester. Using recycled polyester is a way to keep what has already been made in the loop for longer, thereby decreasing dependence on polyester production. In 2022, 8% of Denim Privé’s polyester consisted of recycled polyester.
Hemp is one of many natural fibre alternatives to cotton. Decreasing dependence on a single natural fibre will increase the ability to respond to production without harming the environment.
Tex2Tex is a fully scaled textile-to-textile recycling technology for polyester textile waste. The polyester industry relies on bottle flake RPET (which represents about 99% of the RPET market). This reliance on single-use plastics needs to end. Tex2Tex is the “beyond bottles” sustainable alternative. Earth Protex utilises the fashion industry’s most underutilised waste stream: textile waste.
Tencel Matte has all the sustainably sourced origins of Tencel, but with the added benefit of a matte look. Oftentimes, Tencel gives indigo-dyed denim a shiny look. Tencel Matte is the same durable, breathable, gentle biodegradable material with the added benefit of a subtler style.
Circulose, made by Renewcell, is a branded dissolving pulp crafted from 100% textile waste with high cellulose content (think worn-out cotton jeans or cotton production scraps). The dissolving pulp cellulose is used in viscose, lyocell, modal, acetate and other types of regenerated (or manmade) fibres. This means no new cotton, oil, or wood is used in the making of these fibres.
These regenerative and ecologically sustainable fibres are Refibra, Modal, and ECOVERO. ECOVERO is created by dissolving the cellulose of plant fibre and regenerating it into fibre through the viscose method.
In 2022, production chemicals were above 80% compliant with Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) and 100% compliant with Inditex GTW protocol.
Denim Privé received a Screened Chemistry score of 16% in 2022. Its score was not tracked before 2022 due to the scope of the previous version of ZDHC.
Denim Privé aims to achieve HIGG chemical level 3 and to participate in ZDHC’s Supplier to Zero program. Validating test reports and product stewardship will lead Denim Privé to the highest level, level 3.
How Denim Privé’s chemicals add up: 72 unique products, including commodities, in 2022. Denim Privé is 100% compliant to ZDHC.
Denim Privé strives for a clean and transparent chemical inventory. There were 54 chemical products not including commodities. We engaged with all our chemical suppliers either for production chemicals or non-production chemicals. The unknown chemicals were those in which 3 were from ETP and 2 were from production, which are under review by the certification and technical team of the online chemical disclosure portal.

Recycled Cork
Polyester Fibre
Glue
The cork is obtained from the barks of the cork oak tree. Very thin cork fabric sheets are peeled by machine from the bark of a cork oak tree and adhered to a textile backing.
100% FSC CERTIFIED
Biobased Olive Seed
PU (completely obtained from plant-based waste with no food value).
It is a biodegradable material.
USDA CERTIFIED
Leftover Denim Fabric
Latex (WB glue)
Recycled denim fabric is obtained from denim leftovers and cotton fabric.

Recycled Apple Fibre
PU
Apple skin is another leather alternative made from fruit, specifically from the skin and core waste recovered from the food industry. The material contains 50% apple fibre.
USDA & PETA CERTIFIED
Recycled TPU
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a green product. No air pollution is even burned. It is biodegradable after 3-5 years in soil. The process is eco-friendly, and there is no DMF residue in the final product.
Recycled Polyester
PU
Bio PU
Bio-renewable sources constitute a rich source of precursors for the synthesis of polyols and isocyanates which are under consideration for the production of “greener” PU coating (hemp & sugar beet).

Okeanos raw materials are utilised in circulation as long as possible, generating less waste. A specific technology is used for obtaining alternative finishes. With this method, we achieve less electrical consumption by up to 66%, less water use by up to 80% and less chemical use by up to 80%. Corn starch based polymer (biodegradable) is used as the underpart of the button. This specific category has been awarded by TURCERT as it meets the requirements of ECOmark and ECOlabel TM.
Removable buttons are made of high-quality metal that is durable but not rusty. It is easy to use and can be used after disassembly. The button is designed so that the spring allows the button to have a detachable precision structure. The button’s unique card slot design prevents it from falling easily.
